Summer activites on Karila Farm
Summer invites you to wander and have fun at Karila Farm. Karila Farm, located in the northern part of Äkäslompolo, its surrounding traditional landscape and wild nature offer a variety of activities for people of all ages.
In the summer, the Navettagalleria café opens around Midsummer. In addition to pastries and soup, we also offer ice cream.
For children who like to jump there is a trampoline in the yard, additionally there is also other play equipment and a sandbox in the yard.
We have built a small stunt track where you can test your bike control and your own skills – at your own risk and with adult supervision for young cyclists. However, the stunt track should only be used in dry weather as the wooden structures of the track are wet and slippery when it rains.
On sunny summer days, chickens and a rooster sometimes run around the yard. They do their own thing in the yard and it is fun to watch them. But you shouldn’t try to catch them, as that might scare them.
Dogs must also be kept on a leash in the yard.

Äkäslompolo Story Trail
The Äkäslompolo Story Trail, which circles the entire village and has 21 information points along the way, passes by Karila. The information points tell the history of the village through stories and pictures and are suitable for all ages. There are also works of art along the story trail. Our Farm is located approximately halfway along the trail.
